Japan must not fall a lap behind. Taking inkjet beyond printing into manufacturing. JITF2026 brings together a record 65 companies and organizations; JHVP2026 launches a high-viscosity event limited to 150 participants Ohno Inkjet Consulting, led by Akiyoshi Ohno, will host two consecutive industrial inkjet events at Kyobashi Edogrand in Tokyo from 19 to 21 October 2026. Japan Inkjet Technology Fair 2026 (JITF2026), focused on inkjet components, takes place on 19–20 October. The inaugural Japan High-Viscosity Project 2026 (JHVP2026) follows on 21 October, focusing on technologies for jetting high-viscosity liquids. Background | Inkjet as a manufacturing technology Industrial inkjet has advanced through higher resolution and speed, driving the digital transformation of commercial and industrial printing. As printing applications mature, the organizer sees an opportunity to expand inkjet as a production tool for manufacturing. In Europe, inkjet is increasingly positioned as a core manufacturing technology, with applications in 3D printing, coating, electronic component production and adhesive deposition. Jetting high-viscosity liquids, which conventional inkjet systems struggle to handle, is an important enabler of these applications. According to the organizer, most presentations at AIT (Advanced Inkjet Technology), hosted by iPrint in Switzerland in February 2026, concerned high-viscosity applications. The concern that Japan could once again fall behind global developments prompted the launch of JHVP. Event highlights JITF2026 | Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 October Fifth consecutive year; a record 65 participants Following the predecessor JIBC event in January 2020, JITF relaunched in autumn 2022. In 2026, it moves from Ichigaya to Kyobashi Edogrand, bringing together 65 companies and organizations from Japan and overseas. Tabletop exhibits, talks and networking The fair focuses on components such as printheads, inks, drive electronics and software. It targets 1,000 visitors over two days. At the time the source release was prepared, 400 participants had registered for the networking reception on 19 October. A meeting point with 19 overseas companies Nineteen of the 65 participating companies and organizations are overseas companies. Their presentations will be delivered in English without interpretation. Under the “Inkjet for Everybody” concept, employees of exhibiting companies receive free admission to encourage industry exchange. JHVP2026 | Wednesday 21 October | Inaugural event Featuring iPrint Director Domae Mr. Domae, Technology and Innovation Director at iPrint, an inkjet research institute at a Swiss university, has been invited to oversee and moderate the event. The conference and workshops will provide specialist discussion of high-viscosity inkjet technology. Limited to 150 participants The event will be held at incubation CANVAS, the artience Corporation incubation hub on the 29th floor of Kyobashi Edogrand, with attendance limited to 150 participants.
