At the end of 2008, developers with Franke Coffee Systems began a project designed to fabricate cold milk foam. It quickly became clear that a gear pump with excellent performance capabilities was required for this. After establishing contact with pump manufacturer DPP, a team made up of experts from both companies came up with the perfect solution: an Optima Series gear pump that perfectly matches the needs of the automatic coffeemaker. The results of the collaboration that continues to this day: the first automatic coffeemaker from Franke with a system for cold milk foam. The device was presented at HOST 2009 combined with an innovative flavor system (syrup) – and coffee experts around the world have been raving about it ever since.
