Pour r\u00e9aliser cet accouplement, l&#8217;arbre doit traverser un joint coulissant. Le composant limitant la dur\u00e9e de vie d&#8217;une pompe \u00e0 entra\u00eenement direct est le joint. Quels que soient le type et la qualit\u00e9 du joint, le joint s&#8217;usera et finira par fuir. L&#8217;aimant peut \u00eatre un simple aimant en ferrite ou, pour des forces de couplage plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es, un aimant fait de m\u00e9taux des terres rares. Typiquement, l&#8217;aimant est enferm\u00e9 dans une enveloppe en m\u00e9tal ou en plastique pour emp\u00eacher le contact avec le fluide pomp\u00e9. La chemise assure \u00e9galement l&#8217;accouplement \u00e0 l&#8217;engrenage d&#8217;entra\u00eenement. Une fine barri\u00e8re m\u00e9tallique s\u00e9pare le fluide de l&#8217;atmosph\u00e8re. Un deuxi\u00e8me aimant, fix\u00e9 au moteur, est externe \u00e0 la barri\u00e8re fluidique et est magn\u00e9tis\u00e9 pour former un couplage avec l&#8217;aimant interne. L&#8217;aimant externe peut \u00eatre en ferrite ou en alliages de terres rares. La force magn\u00e9tique diminue avec la distance au carr\u00e9, il est donc essentiel de minimiser la distance entre les aimants. Cet entra\u00eenement utilise l&#8217;aimant interne de la pompe comme rotor pour un moteur \u00e0 courant continu brushless. Cette m\u00e9thode \u00e9limine le moteur autonome, les supports suppl\u00e9mentaires et l&#8217;aimant externe. Le produit r\u00e9sultant est une pompe compacte, peu co\u00fbteuse et herm\u00e9tiquement scell\u00e9e. Pour faire un moteur \u00e0 courant continu brushless efficace dans cette configuration, l&#8217;aimant interne doit \u00eatre fabriqu\u00e9 \u00e0 partir d&#8217;un alliage constitu\u00e9 de terres rares.
